On Thursday, we had another great breakfast with Traci and her kids. Poor Scott had to get up early and off to work--he's probably glad in a way for us to leave so they can get to bed earlier!
We took about a 4 1/2 hour drive north to Saginaw, MI.
We arrived at the hotel and then met my Aunt Claire and cousin Cathy for dinner. We returned to the hotel with the kids ready to jump in the pool, only to arrive just as another kid had thrown up in the pool! Luckily we had stopped at Target and bought the new DVD "College Road Trip", so that was the consolation prize and we all piled on the beds to watch it on the laptop (therefore, I was unable to get the blog posts done). Caleb had complained at dinner that his stomach didn't feel well, and he was right. He ended up with some diarrhea and then throwing up and with a fever of 103 degrees! It is miserable to feel that way at home, but even worse in a hotel. I gave him some Tylenol and thankfully he made it the rest of the night without getting sick again, and woke up fever free. We took a long time getting ready after breakfast to make sure he was gonna be ok before getting in the van.
We made a 2 1/2 hour drive north to a place called Ranch Rudolf. After getting lost on some dirt roads, we happened to be passed by my brother Randy. I couldn't get a signal on my cell phone to call him, and at the time we weren't positive it was him. Once I finally was able to call him, we turned around and followed him to the place of my family reunion.
We are in a rustic, dude ranch setting. It has been nice to see lots of relatives I haven't seen in over 6 years, or more. My reserved husband and oldest son don't seem to be as excited to meet all the new people, but I am grateful he was willing to come along.
I don't have any pictures from day 6 or day 7, so wait and see what happens on day 8.

We are so, so sorry about the illness. :-/ Even though we didn't have those symptoms here, I can't help but think it's all connected.
Get well and enjoy your trip.
Lizzie is adorable...Lizzy must have been automatic. Sorry!
