Where do I begin?
I've admired the blogs of many of my friends for quite some time. I got much more involved in reading blogs as we waited to bring Elizabeth home. While in China, we blogged about our trip to keep people at home updated about our trip and to let our friends and family know how we needed them to pray. After we came home, the craziness of life in our house did not really provide time for me to post. I also thought there really wasn't anyone who would care to continue to read about our lives as we settled into our normal routine.
Well, I've been challenged by one friend in particular's blog. She writes her blog more as a journal to save for her kids to look back on one day. She, like myself, will never find (make) time to produce elaborate scrapbooks for her children. She, like myself, does, however, deeply love her family and wants to leave something for them all to look back on and remember the good times, the hard times, and the times the Lord shows His incredible faithfulness in their lives. She allows others to read along if they so choose, but she writes primarily for her kids.
I have wanted many times to have the discipline of journaling, but have never taken the time to cultivate that in my life. I hope now will be the beginning of a new healthy habit in my life. I will write with the assumption that someday my family will look back and want to remember the things we have experienced. I pray the Lord will use this to remind us of the things He has already done, and through that, give us the hope and faith to trust Him in the "Wanderings" that lie ahead. I hope also that along the way we can laugh at ourselves, and if anyone else decides to read this, they can laugh at us, too!
I came up with the name "Woodall Wanderings" thinking I would use our 2 week trip( that is coming up in 3 weeks) to be the springboard for me to journal. I'm looking forward to our trip---call me crazy, but we have approx. 2200miles round trip planned and sleeping in 9 different places along the way! I am confident something (probably many things) will happen on this trip that will fall in the "memorable" category.
If you are a friend or family reading this, enjoy. Laugh at us, call us crazy, whatever you want, but I pray somehow, someway, you, would be blessed by what you read.
